How to light your restaurant?
To light your restaurant, you need to think about three essential criteria :
Good general lighting in a restaurant should give a pleasant and cozy luminosity to your establishment.
The EN 12464-1 standard states that the average indoor lighting in your restaurant should not be less than 80 lux for your dining room. Regarding the intensity of light measured in kelvin, it should be less than 3300 kelvin, corresponding to a warm light. Finally, your choice of bulb should be oriented towards LED bulbs which offer optimal lighting and are less energy-intensive.
For fast food restaurants, the recommended average lux is 200 lux. and a kelvin greater than 3300 Kelvin (bright brightness)
To illustrate these rules in a practical case, let's imagine that you need to light your restaurant which has a size of 50m2.
You need in number of lumens minimum of 50 x 80 lux = 4000 lumens.
Each table or dining area on the bar must be directly lit. Thus, we install a 1 bulb suspension above each table and one light bulb for every 2 seats at the bar , you get 8 bulbs.
