How many pendant lights in a dining room?
To light a dining table, it's advisable to use, for each linear meter, at least one LED bulb projecting between 400 lumens and 500 lumens. If your table is 2 meters long you need at least one hanging light with two bulbs, Hang 2 Hoopzï, or two hanging lights with 1 bulb, Hang 1 or Bala.
The general lighting of your dining room is provided by pendant lights positioned above the table. However, it's also necessary to illuminate dark areas around the dining table. Hoopzï solutions allow you to combine general lighting with other, more discreet light sources.

What length of light to choose?

Once you've chosen the style of your pendant light, there's the question of the height at which you want to place your bulb.
The rule is simple: this bulb must be neither too high so as not to dazzle you, nor too low so as to block the view of the person in front of you when you're sitting at a table. Generally, the bulb attached to your E27 socket is fixed between 60 cm and 80 cm from the table, or 130 to 150 cm from the floor.
How much lighting power for a dining room?
It's important not to confuse lighting power for the entire room with localized lighting power.
For your dining room, a light intensity of 200 lux is recommended. To calculate light intensity, you need to take into account the total amount of lumens projected by all your bulbs, and divide it by the m2 surface area of your room.
For example, if your dining room is 10m2, you need all your bulbs to add up to 2,000 lumens. These 2,000 lumens divided by the 10 m2 correspond to 200 lux per m2.
Next, you need to concentrate a higher light intensity, localized above the table. This should be between 350 lux and 550 lux. If your table is 2 meters long, you may consider using a luminous flux projecting around 1,000 lumens. If you're positioning a Hang 3, a 3-bulb hanging light, above your table, we'd recommend plugging in 3 ST64 Hoopzi bulbs projecting 350 lumens each.
Highlighting the table
The lighting in your dining room should set the scene for the table, which is the central piece of furniture in your dining room.
