Choose your bulbs wisely!
The arrival of LED bulbs has changed our benchmarks and we must no longer think in watts but in Lumens.
Lumen is the unit that measures luminous flux.
A 5-watt LED bulb emits as much luminous flux (lumens) as an old 40 to 50-watt incandescent bulb.
Many of you have kept the Watts/Lumen markings from incandescent bulbs. The table below allows you to compare the Wattage of each type of bulb in relation to the level of luminous flux you need :

- How to calculate the amount of light ?
The amount of light in a room is expressed in Lux.
Lux is : Lumen / m2
For example 2 bulbs producing 500 lumens (luminous flux) each in a 12 m2 room produce (2 x 500 lumens)/12 m2 = 83.33 Lux
The level of illumination appropriate for a room corresponds to the activities you carry out there. Reading a book or walking down a corridor does not require the same amount of light.

LED bulbs emit a color that is expressed in Kelvin. The lower the number of Kelvin, the warmer the light, and the higher the Kelvin, the whiter the light and gives an impression of coldness.
