How to choose the right bulbs ?

The arrival of LED bulbs has changed our benchmarks and we no longer have to think in watts, but  in Lumen .  Lumen is the unit that measures luminous flux. A 5-watt LED bulb emits as much luminous flux (lumens) as an old 40-50 Watt incandescent bulb. Many of you have kept the Watts/Lumen markings of incandescent bulbs.

How many Watts are needed for a given number of Lumens depending on the type of bulb?

The table below allows you to compare the Wattage of each type of bulb in relation to the level of luminous flux you need.  :

What lighting depending on the room?

The quality of your lighting in your room depends on the light intensity and the color of the temperature.

How to calculate the amount of light  ?

The amount of light in a room is expressed in Lux, this is the Lumen  / m2.  For example 2 bulbs producing  500 lumens (luminous flux) each in a 12 m2 room produce (2 x 500 lumens)/12 m2 = 83.33 Lux

The level of illumination appropriate for a room corresponds to the activities you carry out there. Reading a book or walking down a corridor does not require the same amount of light.   For example, the recommendations of the French Lighting Association are:

In this recommendation, general lighting corresponds to the addition of all the lumens of each bulb divided by the number of m2 of the room.
Spot lighting in a reading light is the light intensity projected onto your book.
So a BALA lighting cable  Equipped with the ST64 4W 350 lumen bulb positioned above your book allows you to read in good conditions and the G95 milky 930 lumens will be perfect above your kitchen worktop.

Which color temperature for which room?

LED bulbs emit a color expressed in Kelvin. The lower the number of kelvins, the warmer the light, and the higher the kelvin, the whiter the light and gives an impression of coldness.

The choice of color for each piece is suggestive and corresponds to the sensitivity of each person. However, Hoopzï advises to standardize the color temperature between rooms to avoid tiring the eyes.
We have therefore chosen to offer you in our collection a choice of bulbs providing you with between 2000 and 3000 Kelvin. So the bulb G95 amber has a light temperature that is close to candles and is very intimate and perfect for being an ambient and decorative light. As for the G95 6.5W  It is a warm white light suitable for lighting the living rooms of your home while maintaining a cozy atmosphere.
