What's on trend in 2024?
Are you the kind of person who looks at what's coming up in the ready-to-wear or automotive sectors when collections are on the horizon? How about doing the same for your home? It's time to take a look at the major decorating and lighting trends for 2024 and anticipate them in order to keep your home as pleasant and trendy as ever. Zoom in on an ultra-strategic decor theme: lighting! Small edit, our lighting trends for 2025 have been published.
What if we started with natural light?

We'll often tell you: nothing beats natural light, its positive effects on your eyes, your vitamin D reserves and so on. Really?
Hoopzï, French manufacturer of suspension lighting, is in regular contact with design experts and visits international trade shows to decipher the major trends in the lighting sector. And indeed, one of the essential pieces of advice advocated by lighting professionals and architects is to maximize the entry of natural light. Daylight is good for our health, and we must avoid spending much of our time without this natural source of light.
So, a big trend in current designs for our homes, offices, and even shopping malls is to maximize natural light with large bare windows, light wall color and reflective surfaces. Skylights, light reflectors, skylights, large bare windows are therefore all part of the recipe. To complete the picture, you can choose warm colors on the walls of a dark room, light colors for your furniture and decorative accessories... So many options that allow you to take advantage of natural light, and thus limit the addition of lighting fixtures while incidentally saving on your electricity bill.
Great ideas... but you hadn't planned to change your windows, drill a skylight in your kitchen ceiling, or even repaint the walls of your living room or bedroom. So you're going to have to rely on other sources of light to illuminate your living spaces, while staying on the cutting edge of trends!
What are the natural materials luminaires trend?
Color, eco-responsibility, nature, sustainability, monochrome or variegated interiors, what are the major 2024 trends?
Nature inside the home

The consumer wants to promote his well-being with soothing, eye-pleasing decoration. He's also a citizen of today, sensitive to current issues: so, in the midst of the climate crisis, he'll prefer to buy eco-responsible products when he can.
This trend will translate in the coming years into the purchase of colors and materials close to nature, or that reflect its elements. In 2023, trends have already focused on wood, rattan and linen, materials that perfectly embody this natural spirit. And it's not about to stop!
Substances or materials derived from the valorization ofnatural materials will also make a remarkable comeback on the decorating market. Thus, for the lighting sector, rattan suspensions will be plebiscited. These suspensions are often sold without a light fixture kit, and the choice of a Hoopzï electric cord in hemp twine or a linen suspension from France will be the right choice to accompany a lamp cover .

Sustainable, recycled materials

Eco-design is clearly the big trend for the next ten years. More and more consumers want to decorate their homes with eco-responsible objects and recycled materials .
A brand must not only promise efforts to reduce its ecological impact and communicate this ideal... It must also prove via strong actions that it is working in this direction. When it has the means to do so, it can even give its consumers the opportunity to buy products that pollute little, if at all! How can we achieve this? With recycled products, for example...
So, composite materials such as bioplastics are made from renewable resources. Corn, sugarcane, beet or algae can be transformed into bio-polymer, which is used to make objects with a variety of uses. This bio-polymer can also be mixed with recycled materials to be transformed into worktops, furniture or even fabric.
That's the path Hoopzï has chosen with its pretty range of lampshades made from oyster waste. The French brand of fabric-covered electrical wire took up the challenge, in 2022, of making a lampshade from a material that we hadn't really known what to do with until then, apart from in kitchens of course: oyster shells. Hoopzï recovers these shells, crushes them and transforms them into micro-powder for mixing with bio-polymer. The whole is transformed into lampshades in the workshops of a plastic injector based in Seine-et-Marne, east of Paris.
Oyster waste is a beautiful raw material found in France, and one we're proud to have been able to valorize, especially with the collaboration of a French manufacturer. The combination of raw materials and French know-how has resulted in an organic, designer product. This type of initiative is a strong trend that will continue and grow. You too can take pride in having innovated by introducing these beautiful, ecological and French decorative objects into your home.

What are the trendy luminaire colors?
How do you choose the color of your lighting fixtures, then?
If you're opting for a natural decor, you've probably chosen furniture or objects with tones reminiscent of the basics of nature: the color wood, green and its khaki or bamboo trends, for example, or the terracotta shade.

You can favor the same colors for your lighting fixtures, and thus stay in a neutral tone that will blend in well with the rest of your decor . These light brown, brick and khaki green hues combined with hanging lights in natural materials such as linen, rattan will be best-sellers for your interior in 2024.

Oversized lampshades

Here's a trend that Hoopzï loves, oversized lampshades!"
To magnify your decor, and set the scene for your interior, you can choose a lampshade with an outsized dimension. This lighting trend is a trick decorators use to make a room look bigger than it really is, by positioning a very large lampshade. As the hanging lampshade is often the centerpiece of the living room, kitchen or bedroom, it also helps set the tone for the decorating theme.
So Hoopzï loves the creations of atelier Marie Drouet , a basket maker based just outside Paris, creator of oversized wicker lampshades. Many creations by publishing houses or artisan lampshade makers offer oversized lampshades, such as the company Bazar Bizar with its Whipped lampshade, suspended by the5-bulb suspension Hang de Hoopzï.
To install your pendant lights, Hoopzï offers an ideal solution, as each socket supports up to two kilos. You can then choose the right color of woven electric wire to match the color of your decor and position your lampshade, the centerpiece of the place you want to illuminate.
